ABOUT THE AUTHOR As a child growing up in the seventies, Wendy lived in northern Queensland, Australia. There were no computer games or expensive lifestyles. She and her brothers roamed freely through sugar cane paddocks on bicycles. She went to a small, country primary school of 60 children, drank fresh, warm cow's milk and ate tropical fruit and vegetables freshly picked from the family garden. For fun she would play with her pets and life was so very simple. Growing up, money was tight and not having debt was a priority. Her family had to learn how to be resourceful when times were tough. Living in Melbourne, Victoria between 1991 - 2008, she studied at the Australian College of Environmental Studies in 2000 where she learned about the effects of chemicals in our everyday lives. Wendy was one of the first in Australia to create a dedicated online organic product business back in 2001 called 'The Organic House' with over a thousand clients Australia-wide and around the world, some of whom suffered chemical sensitivities and severe allergies. She eventually sold the business to concentrate on writing and travelling. Wendy, her husband and three children travelled around Australia for three months in 2006. In January 2009, Wendy and her family moved to Byron Bay NSW where Wendy dedicates much of her time and energy to research and writing in an endeavour to develop a more conscious, ethical, community-minded and sustainable society. Through her books, she offers advice, hints, tips, valuable information, positive action, preventative measures, support, encouragement and most importantly the possibility of the enhancement of our lives in conjunction with the environment. Her articles have been published in various health and wellbeing magazines throughout Australia. Her books have inspired television and magazine coverage.
